State Bank of India, country’s largest public sector lender, has taken in several new rules for the customers. The financial institution is becoming world’s 45thlargest lender after merger with five sister banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank.

SBI’s new norms relate to minimum balance requirement in savings bank accounts, amended service charges, cool product tax rates, renewed locker fees, charges for availing new cheque books and much more, according to Zee News.

Most prominent among these changed rules are related to customers who hold savings accounts at metro, urban, semi-urban and rural branches. The lender has made mandatory repair off minimum balance over these accounts from April 1.

This is a primer on which the changed rules entail SBI people to do.

1) From April 1, all SBI savings banking account holders is going to be required to maintain stipulated minimum balance inside their accounts. The financial institution has categorised its customers under metro, urban, semi-urban and rural brackets.

2) The absolute minimum balance dependence on Rs 5,000 may be fixed with an account holder in a branch inside a metro city. Similarly, customers in urban, semi-urban and rural SBI bank branches have to maintain Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively.

3) SBI has additionally formulated new rules for cash transactions particularly at its atm booths. Under new rules, an SBI debit card holder will probably be allowed five free transactions at its ATMs. Besides, you will have a fee of Rs 20 for a fourth transaction for debit card holders of other banks.

The financial institution will start charging Rs 50 following the first three cash deposits with the month. This limit is prescribed to save bank accounts.
For current customers the money transaction charges can be as high as Rs 20,000

In metropolitan areas like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru there will be a cost of Rs 100 plus service tax, when the balance goes below 75 percent of the minimum average balance.
When the account holder is falling in short supply of 50 per cent or less of the MAB.

Cash withdrawal from ATMs will probably be charged following the first three transaction for other banks and first five transactions from SBI ATMs.
The account holder will probably be charged Rs 20 following the three transactions off their bank ATMs and will be charged Rs 10 for withdrawals from SBI ATMs.
There won’t be any charge on withdrawals from SBI ATMs when the account holder maintains a minimum balance of Rs 25,000
In
Rs 15 is going to be charged for SMS alerts per quarter from debit card holders who have the ability to maintain average quarterly balance up to Rs 25,000 through the three months period.
There will be no charge for UPI/ USSD transactions as high as Rs 1000.
