How to write a screenplay:

1. Think of a good plan! It should be in regards to a protagonist who embarks on a quest. That could be a guy (protagonist) who saves the planet earth from an incoming asteroid (quest). It may be in regards to a woman that has to re-enter the work-force after getting divorced. It may be about a group of mountain-climbers who climb Mount Everest.
2. Find screenwriting software which you like. There are top-notch screen-writing programs available at almost any price-point. If you cannot spare the cash, additionally, there are excellent free options available.
3. Create your protagonist or main-character. The person the movie’s likely to be about. Give him a detailed backstory.
4. Lengthy protagonist a character-flaw or internal-conflict. Maybe he’s a drunk. Maybe he’s a racist. Maybe he treats his children poorly. It can be anything. Just so long as this character-flaw is preventing your protagonist from achieving their goal.
5. Create fully fleshed-out supporting-characters. Some could be working to help your protagonist, some can be working against him. Let them have backstories and names.

6. Convert your idea onto a 3 act strucutre. Your protagonist should select to set about their quest at the conclusion of the initial act (the first turning-point). There ought to be a false-victory or defeat about the mid-point. The stakes should rise dramatically at the conclusion of the second act (2nd level), and the quest needs to be decided on the climax.
7. Using the story-structure you just created, create all your scenes. Don’t worry about writing the scenes themselves, just like the action or dialogue, just jot down a quick sentence or two on a cue card about what must occur in that scene.
8. You need to have a pile of cue cards, listing all of your scenes – and what you need to do in every one. The time has come for a few minor re-organizing, if you wish. Just re-arrange the cue cards!
9. Once you’ve your storyline, you’re ready to start writing your screenplay! Consider the first cue card from the pile and record it! You will need to flesh out, of course. You will need to add dialogue and action.
10. Congratulations, you’re now a screenwriter! You merely wrote the first Hollywood-style screenplay! Now you must to transmit out to film-producers and movie studios!
