How weddings have changed over the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; an easy wedding car to expensive and large wedding cars; three course meals in order to six course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
These are the second, wedding speeches continue to be an important part of a wedding and guests do enjoy hearing them, discussing them before, during as wll as after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, throughout the meal after the meal, yet it’s of a strong opinion the wedding speeches needs to be delivered after the meal. I am aware that for many wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father with the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the 5 main speakers), they will want to possess the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, for them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are spending money for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and exactly how many of them (as wll as the wedding venue staff) would choose the wedding speeches to be delivered following the meal for most reasons, most of which include:
The invited guests happen to be fed and watered and are not paying attention to wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which could be the case before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served in the agreed time (introduce wedding ceremony speeches before the meal as well as their might be a delay of A quarter-hour to a single.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding ceremony speeches become the transition through the meal on the dancing (with nothing happening following the meal, everyone is expecting ‘a few words’ to get shared about the Bride & Groom and they know they could get out of bed, move, come out, take a stroll, visit the bar…)
It can be hard for parents of the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public, as the majority of them may not be used of computer. So, they might, when they so wished, speak before the / their meal.
There should always be some form of formal speech(es) as soon as the meal…
