What’s the expression “it is what it is”? Simply what does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper concise explaination this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru from the lotus position floating above the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that would take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Seeing as how this really is my last life in the world along with the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting this course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
Is there a IT that we are covering here? According to the Course in Miracles, It’s truth, specifically God’s truth. Why do imperative that you emphasize that it is God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not offered to interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have create a many religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as being a “system of thought, feeling, and action which is shared with a group understanding that increases the members a physical object of devotion.”
Who devised it of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? Based on the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is usually to come back to a great state of being. There isn’t any thought or action inside the state of being, you merely are. What must not be forgotten will be the underlying thread of all religions: God is creator, God is love and we’re all perfect and infinite children of God.
Put yet another way, “it ‘s what it is” can be rewritten to “God’s love is the only truth which is absolute” this also truth knows no bounds and is timeless.
