How weddings have changed in the decades! Coming from a handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding ceremony members; a simple wedding car to expensive and huge wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1-3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches continue to be a fundamental part of a marriage and guests do enjoy hearing them, speaking about them before, during as well as after they’ve been delivered.
We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, in the meal after the meal, yet it’s of your strong opinion the wedding speeches must be delivered following the meal. I am aware that for a lot of wedding party speakers i.e. Father with the Bride Speech, Father with the father of the groom speech (the 5 main speakers), they would prefer to hold the wedding speeches prior to the meal, so they can enjoy their meal (some of them are spending money for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and how many of them (as well as the wedding venue staff) would prefer the wedding speeches to get delivered following the meal for a lot of reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and aren’t listening to wedding speeches before eating anything (at least of food, which would be the case before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival with the wedding venue)
Food could be cooked and served on the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches ahead of the meal as well as their can be quite a delay of Fifteen minutes to 1.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy trying to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches behave as the transition in the meal for the dancing (without a penny happening as soon as the meal, everyone is expecting ‘a few words’ being shared in regards to the Bride & Groom after which they know they can stand up, move about, take a rest, go for a walk, see a bar…)
It can be hard for folks of the Bride & Groom to communicate in in public places, since most of them couldn’t survive used of computer. So, they may, if they so wished, speak prior to the / their meal.
There should be some kind of formal wedding speech(es) following the meal…
