The Galaxy Note10+ may be the biggest Galaxy Note Samsung’s released it’s oftentimes the main one with all the fewest differences from its smaller Galaxy S siblings, as well. Even size doesn’t seem to be much of a differentiator anymore, since the six-month-old Galaxy S10+ is a scant few millimeters shorter and narrower as opposed to mighty Note10+. For that stylus die-hards, the Note remains without meaningful competition. Improved on-screen handwriting recognition and further remote camera control features keep your S Pen feeling fresh (theoretically), though you’re not gonna go to whichever game-changing updates within the Note9 there. The Note10+ does pack some year-over-year upgrades worth speaking about: the battery is a touch under 10% larger, and also the screen features a little over 10% more floor. There exists a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and double storage and RAM – 12GB, a quantity whose usefulness outside technical marketing is questionable – and you obtain the first true fast charging within a flagship Samsung phone (25W using the included charger, 45W if you opt for the ultra-fast charger). There is also an ultrawide rear camera, an upgraded selfie camera, and Samsung’s controversial in-display fingerprint scanner.
Written, then, the brand new Note is a real step-up from last year’s. The problem is that a lot of upgrades debuted for the Galaxy S10+ captured, which phone went on discount usually that Samsung’s $999 MSRP simply doesn’t apply. Together with the Note10+ coming in at an eye-watering $1100 while an S10+ has frequently been shared for $800 or fewer, Samsung’s biggest competition appears to be being itself. While the stylus-faithful probably aren’t considering that value proposition, in case you simply bought the Note because it was the best Samsung phone, it’s increasingly challenging to ignore.
