When Jesus came and brought the gospel of Christianity it was welcomed by the masses as exceptionally very good news. Thousands followed him to know the language of life which he spoke. After he was crucified, his disciples continued preaching and teaching his ways and they also were likewise welcomed because bringers of good news.
Definitely not everyone was thrilled only at that new teaching. The established religion during the day opposed it violently, even putting many to death for preaching the words of God. They whipped, beat, imprisoned and crucified lots who thought we would follow or teach the modern gospel. And yet in spite of the suffering inflicted, they couldn’t destroy this teaching or halt multiplication of this nice thing about it.
One of the charges laid contrary to the early teachers with this gospel was that they, “Turned the planet upside down” using this teaching (Acts 17:6). Truly, the modern teachings with the gospel of Christ were nice thing about it and tremendously powerful.
Many people encourage lots of things, however, not many would opt to suffer abuse, torture, ridicule as well as die as an alternative to renounce their beliefs. But such was the enormity and strength of this great news.
Consider also the condition of the apostles after that Jesus ended up put to death. What makes this message so powerful? In this world man is plagued with all of manner of evil, both from the inside of and without. Man suffers at the hands of his fellow man sometimes more so at their own hands by succumbing towards the desires of his flesh. Man suffers disease, sickness and death, often as a result of their own passions and needs. Man sins continually through lies, cheating, envy, jealousy and commits acts of murder, adultery, substance abuse, theft, insurrection and method of wrongdoing. Because of these and a lot of other items, man is actually in a condition of stress.
Just watch the night time news or pick up a newspaper and you may understand the sin and evil rampant these days containing man rolling around in its grip. It is tremendously stressful to see or read these items. Pressure and tension build until most of the people achieve the point where they wish it might all disappear or they can escape the strain.
To be removed because of this stress would truly be not just great news, but Fantastic news. And that is exactly what Jesus with his fantastic disciples offered within their teachings, and why people flocked to listen to these words of the great news in the gospel of Christ.
The reality of the Gospel is all about freedom, and it’s also currently available just as it was then though. What’s promising with the gospel offers freedom from bondage, freedom from sin, freedom from stress and freedom all the pressures on this world. And when you’ve got freedom out there there is a another thing that world cannot give you… peace.
For those who receive the truth in the gospel it has an inner peace, that will come from knowing Jesus and applying his teachings in your lifetime. If you are at ease within, it no more matters just what the world throws to you since it can’t affect you if you don’t allow it to. Peace within in these days of effective disaster and troubles is actually fantastic news as well as a real blessing to everyone who find and receive it.
