Wedding Music Create Your Special Occasion

If Music Be the Food of Love, how can you plan it to your Wedding?

Congratulations, you are getting married….that’s the great part!

Yes, these days you have to policy for the wedding ceremony Date, Dress, Wedding Flowers, Ceremony Location, Venue, Rings, Food list, Guests List, Seating Arrangements, Invitations, Honeymoon Plans, Limo’s, and the like. That is the not-so-great part!

The wedding ceremony Planning experience can be both uplifting, and frustrating. It can often think that, “the best, and worst of times”, to explain Charles Dickens. You’ll find, countless decisions, and thus short amount of time.

This document will address Wedding Music Entertainment, direct you towards your final decision process, and hopefully reduce some stress.

Wedding Music Entertainment,…you aren’t?

Unlike other aspects, Wedding Music Entertainment (Bands, DJ’s, Musicians) is not an “must have”, to your Special occasion. It can be truly an alternative.

So, first of all, would you desire Music of any type, to your Wedding?

If, “no”, you’ve one less decision to produce, stop reading… and about that Dress!

If, “yes”, you will find a amount of try to do: do you need music to your:

A) Ceremony
B) Cocktail Hour
C) Reception

A, B and C,….or perhaps A,B, or C….. (you’ll find nine possibilities here)

If you’re looking at any of the above, are you wanting Live Music (Musicians, Bands), or Recorded (DJ) Music?

Your wedding reception Ceremony

The wedding Ceremony, is going to be one of the most personal section of that Special Day.

Live Musicians are preferred for Marriage ceremonies. They boost the ambiance and emotional setting. And being human, in contrast to recorded Music, they’re able to react quickly to changes in environmental surroundings.

As an example, as Wedding party members, enter leave, a ceremony area, Live Musicians can very naturally modify the music tempo (speed, feel, etc.), to hold in sync with changing walking steps (older folks often walk slower, and young folks – especially when nervous, walk faster). Watching an accomplished Musician effortlessly perform this task, is truly an art form in itself. (experienced DJ’s also can make this happen electronically with recorded music, but it just will not feel as, “natural”).

Therefore, should you desire Ceremony Music of any sort, my suggestion, is Live Musicians (either solo, duo, or trio). And rather than the classic organ, you should try something different….flute, harp, piano, violin, cello, horn, or guitar.

Also, if someone else with your family members have musical talent, of course invite the crooks to execute a song…it gets an infinitely more memorable experience to suit your needs, them, as well as your guests.

Your wedding reception Cocktail Hour

Wedding Cocktail Hours are generally because of the least thought regarding music planning. Why? Well first of all, you (the Bridal Party) are usually not there (for some of it anyway). This time (soon after the marriage Ceremony) is normally allotted for Picture taking together with the Photographer….frequently within a different area. That is all acceptable for the Wedding ceremony, bear in mind regarding your guests!

For both those that attended the marriage Ceremony, and those that did not, the regular meeting ground, pending your return from Picture taking, will be the Cocktail Hour area. It can be here that they may, try an hors d’ oeuvre, have a drink, and begin to mingle.

Now I could be described as a bit biased, but there is no more inviting, than soothing music as you enters a room…it creates a certain, welcoming, ambiance. It sets the atmosphere. It says to your guests, “yes, come on in, there’s a celebration happening in here”!

Which type of Cocktail Hour Music Entertainment should you choose for your guests?

Live Bands, unless a little Classical, or Jazz trio, could be, “overkill”, for any Cocktail Hour. A Solo Musician or DJ can be more modest.

I’ve attended great Cocktail Hours with Musicians, and great Cocktail Hours with DJ’s. It can be again, very subjective, however, many people feel Musicians, usually give a certain, “Elegance”…

A key point to consider is that this may be the “prep time” for your Reception. Until they’ve satisfied their hunger for food, drink and talk, most guests will not take a partying mood initially. This is fine, because remember, you are not there! So in selecting Cocktail Hour Music, whether it is Live Musicians or perhaps a DJ, ensure that it stays, “low-key”, at this time…nice background, easy listening melodies, no head-banging sounds, a minimum of, not even.

Your wedding event

The Wedding party has finished picture taking, your invited guests have loosened up with a glass or two, so let the Reception begin!

From that unique first dance, before Party’s end, you actually want whether DJ or Live Band giving the Musical Entertainment.

Even though some DJ’s are great at getting parties really hopping, Bands are usually more dynamic. And to be honest, nothing feels like Live Music. However, Bands can be be extremely expensive. Especially, if there are a lot more than four members…you happen to be talking from the “upper” thousands dollar range.

And also being more affordable (typically about 20 -25% the buying price of a Band), some DJ’s provide Karaoke Services, where guests can sing in addition to songs on stage, and get their, “moment of fame” (you will find there’s least one “ham” each and every party). It may be plenty of fun for those, and makes for some memorable photos.
So in summary, while both Bands and DJ’s are perfect for Reception Music, in case your budget is tight, DJ’s are much more affordable.

How to select your own music Entertainment

By this point, you have made most of the Music Entertainment decisions on your Wedding. The next step is actual Entertainer selection (Musicians, Bands, or DJ’s).
Fortunately to suit your needs, (not for Entertainers), the law of supply vs demand is at your favor…there are several to choose from.

Obviously, whenever possible, concept, and/or hear, the Entertainers perform live, perhaps while attending a golf club iron, restaurant, or friend’s Wedding.

If you love their performance, avoid being shy about approaching them; most Entertainers are very friendly people, and definately will welcome your inquiry. Request a card, and when they would be inclined (or are available) to perform for your event. Also many Musicians typically have their CD’s available, for whether nominal charge, or sometimes complimentary.

Close to actually hearing Entertainers face-to-face, recommendations from friends can be quite helpful. You should be a little skeptical, if the friend, of the friend, of your friend, features a brother-in-law, that typically plays the tuba (or whatever). Ask how much time they’ve been performing, and request names of contemporary performance venues. Also ask for a video or audio file of these work.

And naturally, often there is Google. Like other things, searching for Musicians, or Bands or DJ’s locally, and acquire many sites. The problem is that every Entertainer’s web site, will mention how wonderful, great, and spectacular these are; every site starts to look the identical. So how do you choose?
