I remember, some time ago, reading an article by the prominent blogger and SEO expert about “mobile blogging”. He a “blogging box” which allowed him to blog wherever he was (that i thought was a bit stupid and pretentious). It included searching for camera, a laptop with a 3G modem, a notepad and pen, and other bits and pieces. The whole lot nearly fit into a suitcase.
Thankfully, stuff has moved on slightly, so we will have WordPress apps for iPhone/iPad and Android. Both apps have become compatible with more or fewer recent versions of WordPress. That said, be sure you check which version of WordPress you’ll need to be running in order to access your dashboard via mobile.
Blogging vs Microblogging
Obviously, much of your limitation when working with a cell phone for blogging is always that everything is a small bit a greater portion of an irritation. You can not type as quicly, upload numerous pictures, format as well, or perform few advanced things. You can do almost everything you may need, but it is a bit more cumbersome.
That being said, the best way forward is clearly microblogging. By microblogging I don’t mean a twitter-esque update. I simply mean a bare-bones post, which has a picture plus some commentary that you just considered whilst you were out of your laptop along with a wi-fi connection.
What this enables you to do, amongst other items, is live-blog events and items that happen. In the event you spot something exciting, you are able to take a photo or even a video from it and set it in your blog even before you get back. In case you are available of breaking news, this is often invaluable.
